American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
The American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course requires participants to complete an online learning course as well as 4 days of onsite classroom and in-water training. This course provides entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

Certification Prerequisites
- Minimum age: 15 years old
- Swim 300 yards continuously, combination of freestyle and breaststroke
- Retrieve a 10-lb brick from bottom of pool, swim with brick 20 yards
- 2-minute tread water using legs only
Lifeguard Certification Requirements
- Online training course must be completed before attending onsite pool training. The instructor will email online course information after you register.
- Attend and participate in all class sessions and activities
- Demonstrate competency in all required skills
- Pass the final skills scenarios
- Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80%
Please bring swimsuit, goggles, towel, pen, paper and a lunch/snack. Will take short breaks.
